Welcome to our Staff page. The Ferrethammock.com testers help us make quality ferret bedding by trying out sample items. Please be assured that all bedding sold through the site is new and never been used. All our ferrets have tested negative for ADV using Blue Cross Animal Hospital's CEP test and are free from ECE. You may occasionally find some white hair on your bedding, it came from our two cats, who love to sleep in the sewing room. The People: Steph is our designer and seamstress, she's also a doctoral candidate in history at a local univeristy. Tommy is our web designer and resident artist. His day job is as a development researcher for a large environmental organization. Testers Barnum: (Born Dec. 2004) Barnum was adopted from Rocky’s Ferret Rescue and Shelter at Ferretstock 2005. He loves to play and can be found snuggling in a sleep sack with one of the girls.
Alice: (born Spring 2007) Alice is a wild child, born early this spring in Ohio, she was rescued and brought back to Virginia in October along with Grommit, Lola and the other twelve ferrets FerretsFirst took in. She loves to play and snuggle with the boys.
Lola: (born Spring 2007) Lola is Alice's sister and is quite the spitfire. She has attitude and some to spare! She loves to play and eat! Stop by the Ferrethammock.com table or the FerretsFirst table at any of the shows we attend to meet him!.
Daisy: (born 2004) Daisy is a crazy girl. She and her two brothers, Shortstop and Maize, were surrendered to FerretsFirst shelter in 2009. The three of them came to live with us because the shelter was overflowing. Daisy only likes her brothers and she loves to play, especially with crocheted eggs..

Maize: (born 2004) Maize is a very sweet boy whose goal in life is to eat and get snuggled. He likes any ferret he's ever met, although his siblings aren't really fond of other ferrets beside eachother. Maize loves his soup.
Sewing Assistants Our two cats, Bijou and Goblin love to help sew, if you see some white hair on your bedding, it’s probably from them! Bijou (Born July 2001) Bijou is a Siamese mix who loves to talk and give kisses. She isn’t so fond of ferrets, but she is happy to take a nap on a pile of ferret bedding.
Goblin (Born Aug. 2003) Goblin is a longhaired, long legged ferret. He loves the ferrets, and they love him.

Thelma and Louise (Born 2000), our two foster ferrets from Ferrets R#1, Louise passed from osteosarcoma in October 2004 and Thelma followed her in June, she never woke up from adrenal surgery.
Oscar: (2001-Aug. 22, 2007) Oscar passed away from cancer after a long stay with us as a foster, he hated other ferrets but was quite the people weasel. He will be missed very much. Kurt: (2002-Sept. 8, 2007) Kurt was only with us a short time as a foster but he is very sorely missed, he came to stay after his brother Slash passed away in July. He was quite the charming old man, and a big begger for food.
Dora: (2003-11 Nov 2007) Sweet little Dora passed on over the Rainbow Bridge after a very long fight with intestinal issues. Her lifelong friends Medusa and Murphy miss her very much.
Medusa: (June 2003-Nov. 27, 2007) Medusa passed away after a very short fight with lymphoma. Our kitchen will never be the same without her, standing at our feet while we cooked dinner every night, begging for a taste of people food. She and Dora are causing all sorts of trouble together at the bridge.
Raleigh: (1999/2000 to March 29, 2009) Raleigh was Jasper's best buddy. He passed away a short but severe illness at 9 years of age. His brother misses him and old man playtime is very quiet without him.
Ollie (Aug. 2005 to 15 Sept. 2009) Ollie was adopted from FerretsFirst Shelter. He passed away from aggressive intestinal lymphoma, he is very missed by his best buddy Barnum.
Jasper: (1999/2000 to 12 Oct. 2009) Jasper is Raleigh's best friend and one of our fosters from FerretsFirst Rescue. He passed away from insulinoma at the ripe old age of ten.
JD (unknown to 5 Nov. 2009): JD had a very hard life, he was abandoned in a house in a nearby town, found some time later nearly dead from starvation and dehydration, and had serious health issues from the neglect. He lived with us for nearly siz months after he decided he lived here when we babysat him for the ferret shelter. He passed away from complications from IBD resulting from being abandoned.
Murphy: (Nov. 2003- Dec. 17, 2009) Murphy was our first ferret and the one who got us into all of this. Murphy passed away after a stroke and a long fight with congestive heart disease. Although we know he has been reunited with his girls, Medusa and Dora, he is very deeply missed and hope there are lots of crochet eggs for him at the Rainbow Bridge.
Marta (2003?-Jan. 2, 2010): Marta is a sweet old lady from FerretsFirst Rescue who came to us with almost no hair and skinny as a stick. She passed away after a long and tough fight with insulinoma. We miss seeing her cute little face poking out of the softest bed in the room.
Grommit: (Spring 2005-May 6, 2010) Grommit passed from heart failure at the age of five. We miss his crazy dancing and sweet kisses.
