How You Can Help

Late Summer/Fall through the winter holidays  is the time when many people dump their pets because the kids went back to school and don't want to care for them any more, or they are travelling, or kid goes off to college and mom doesn't want to clean the ferret cage or let them out to play.  This time of year the ferret shelters need our help more than ever, so they won't get overwhelmed and close their doors.

How you can help your local ferret shelter:

-Donate (money, supplies, time)

-Volunteer (in the shelter doing cleaning and playing with the ferrets or at home doing website maintenance, fundraising, etc.)

-Adopt or Foster ferrets for the shelter.  Reducing the number in the shelter makes much less work for the shelter operator on a daily basis and makes more room for ferrets that no longer have a home.

To find a shelter near you, check the listings at the American Ferret Association Website.

Volunteering for a ferret shelter is always rewarding.  Most of the time its just hard to keep from taking them all home!
